The Animal Foundation in Las Vegas is a great place to find the perfect canine companion for your family. We run a number of fee-waived dog adoption promotions throughout the year, but our everyday low adoption fees for dogs are meant to encourage you not to wait!
Everyday Low Adoption Fees
Did you know that it costs The Animal Foundation an average of over $300 to care for each adoptable pet at the animal shelter? Lucky for you, we absorb most of that cost through donations. Our everyday low adoption fee for dogs six months and older is just $50. Often, however, we run promotions where it costs even less or nothing at all to adopt a pet.
Fee-Waived Adoptions, Promotions, and Discounts
The one fee-waived adoption promotion you can count on every year at The Animal Foundation is Clear the Shelters day which is in mid-August of every year and is a national adoption event promoted by Telemundo and NBC. On that day, The Animal Foundation’s goal is to get every animal in the animal shelter adopted so all pet adoption fees are waived.
However, there are many other opportunities throughout the year to save on adoption fees thanks to promotions. Harder-to-adopt large dogs and senior dogs are often available at a reduced adoption fee. If The Animal Shelter is close to capacity, which usually happens during the summer months and sometimes into fall, adoption fees are waived on most, if not all, of the dogs during specified, limited timeframes.
Keep in mind, too, that we have year-round discounts for certain groups. People 60 years and older, military, veterans, and first responders all receive a 50% discount on adoptions year-round. If you fall into one of these categories, this means it only costs you $25 to adopt a dog any day of the year!
Donations are Always Welcome when Adoption Fees are Waived
Something to keep in mind about fee-waived adoptions is that donations are always welcomed and encouraged. Anything you can contribute helps cover animal care costs for the over 20,000 animals we save every year. When you make a donation, you’re directly helping our shelter dogs and cats who may need a little extra time to find their forever family. If you’d like to make a donation in place of your pet’s adoption fee, consider the following:
• $20 microchips one pet, increasing the chance they’ll be reunited with their owners if ever lost
• $50 provides all the vaccinations needed for a pet entering our care
• $60 neuters one male dog
• $85 spays one female dog under 25 lbs.
• $100 will provide puppy or kitten formula for a litter in foster care

You’ll find a good selection of smaller dogs and cats at our PetSmart Charities Everyday Adoption Center (EAC) at 286 W. Lake Mead Parkway in Henderson. Both are open seven days a week!
